Metrobank’s fund management expertise earns accolades from CFA Society Philippines
The bank has proven that providing financial solutions for its clients requires consistency and dedication.
The CFA Society Philippines recognized Metrobank for its fund management expertise in its recently concluded 9th annual Best Managed Funds of the Year Awards for 2024.
The program sought to raise awareness of the best funds in the country by recognizing professionally managed funds that have delivered the highest risk-adjusted returns compared to peers.
Metrobank’s Trust Banking Group bagged two commendations for its Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITFs) under categories for the best Peso and Dollar Intermediate-Term Bond Funds, which are funds that use fair value profit and loss valuation with a fund duration of up to three years.
“Despite having a new and lean UITF team, the funds that we managed achieved recognition from the CFA Philippines as one of the Best Managed Funds for 2024. This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication, innovative approach, and unwavering commitment to achieve consistent returns for our investors,” said Angelica Reyes, Metrobank’s Trust Banking Group Head.
“We are humbled by this recognition, and we would like to thank CFA Philippines for recognizing our work. This motivates us to continue striving for excellence in our investment processes and portfolio performance,” added Ma. Cristina Gabaldon, Metrobank’s Deputy Head for the Investment Management Division.
Held at The City Club Alphaland, CFA Society Philippines recognized 13 best performing funds in the country, including Metrobank’s winning funds. The winners were chosen from a total of 136 qualified funds from 17 investment houses and trust institutions who joined the awards.
