Life after rate cuts: Metrobank guides clients on their next moves
Through its economic briefing titled “Rate cuts are here, now what?”, Metrobank tells clients about opportunities lurking behind market uncertainties.
With rate cuts now an important factor in the decisions of investors these days, Metrobank recently offered clients the chance to know what is on the minds of its financial and economic experts.
In an economic briefing titled “Rate cuts are here, now what?”, Metrobank Chief Economist Nicholas Mapa and CreditSights Co-President Erin Lyons shared their insights and ideas to a select group of high-net-worth and institutional clients.
Lyons talked about navigating political uncertainties especially in the US, saying that the dynamics in the congress will matter much more than who is elected president. She also highlighted the resilience of the bond markets and the opportunities that investors can explore.
Meanwhile, Mapa outlined the hurdles that remain after the central bank commenced its easing cycle. For him, private investment and consumer spending need to recover to ensure healthy economic resurgence.
In the Q&A session together with Mapa, Lyons, Metrobank Head of Trading John Lu, and Metrobank head of Institutional Sales Ricardo Pedrosa, clients asked practical questions: How will this affect foreign exchange and interest rates? What can we do to get ahead of the curve and take advantage of opportunities? Are there available hedging tools to manage the risks amid market volatility?
The clients left with insights and ideas that will inform their next moves.
